200 Closing Borders Stores Hold Sales Starting Feb. 19th
In 35 U.S. states, 200 closing Borders stores will hold sales starting Saturday, February 19th.
Borders received approval from the court on Thursday February 17th to close 200 of its 642 stores. The average remaining lease term of the stores is 5.9 years, according to the company’s bankruptcy documents.
According to Andy Graiser, copresident of DJM Realty:
Many of the stores are located in markets that are difficult to enter, including northern and southern California, the cities of New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston and their neighboring suburbs.
